How money moves on U Creator
When a brand confirms a creator for a brief, the agreed budget is collected and held in escrow. It is not paid out at that moment. The creator delivers the work, the brand reviews it, and the money is released to the creator only when the brand approves. U Creator retains a flat 15% commission from the released amount, and takes nothing at all from a project that does not complete.
This means a brand's money is never with the creator before the work is accepted, and a creator's payment is never dependent on the brand's goodwill after it is.
Before a creator is confirmed
A brief can be edited, closed or cancelled at any time before you confirm a creator, at no cost. Nothing has been collected at that stage, so there is nothing to refund.
After a creator is confirmed
If the brand cancels before the work is delivered, the held budget is refunded to the original payment method in full. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
If the creator withdraws, or does not deliver by the agreed timeline, the held budget is refunded to the brand in full.
If the brand approves the work, the payment is released to the creator and is not refundable. Approval is the point of no return, which is why we ask you to download and review the delivered files before approving rather than after.
Cancelling repeatedly after confirming a creator wastes that creator's time even when it costs nothing in money. Accounts that do it persistently may be restricted from posting new briefs.
Disputes over delivered work
If a brand believes the delivered work does not match the brief, raise it with the creator in the brief's chat first, and use “request changes” rather than approving. The money stays in escrow while the creator revises, so nobody is out of pocket while you work it out. Most disagreements end here.
If that fails, email payments@ucreator.in within 7 days of delivery, quoting the brief reference from the brief page URL. We review the brief as written, the messages exchanged and the files delivered, and decide whether the held amount is released to the creator, refunded to the brand, or split. We aim to decide within 7 business days, and we tell both sides the reason.
U Creator is a marketplace, not a party to the underlying contract between brand and creator. Our role in a dispute is limited to deciding how the held amount is settled, and our decision on that is final on the platform. It does not remove either party's right to pursue the matter elsewhere.
Refund timelines
Approved refunds are initiated within 1 business day of the cancellation or decision. How long the money then takes to appear depends on your bank, card issuer or UPI provider, and is typically 5 to 7 business days after initiation. We will tell you when a refund has been initiated; the remaining delay is with your bank and is outside our control.
Refunds always return to the original payment method. We cannot redirect a refund to a different card, account or UPI ID.
Creator payouts
Released payments are transferred to the payout method on the creator's profile within 1 business dayof approval. Keeping that UPI ID or bank account correct is the creator's responsibility: a payout sent to a mistyped ID that belongs to a real third party may not be recoverable, and we cannot reverse it once the transfer has settled.
